I’ve recently realized that a lot of my work is aimed at capturing light. This piece was no exception to that.

You know that feeling when you close your eyes and the sun is shining on your face? You feel the warmth, see glimpses of golden light, amber and white in the darkness of your closed eyelids.
That glow, that warmth, that primal love that comes through connecting with nature and the world around us.
The warmth of a hug, feeling seen, returning to who you truly are. Presence and stillness.
Even when your eyes are closed, you can feel the light there on you and with you.
Sometimes we close our eyes to feel more deeply, have a small escape from overwhelm, to feel hope, to sigh after something intense, to feel joy, to feel present, to soak it all in. To be.

My sister says to her it is “fairy fields.” That’s the beauty of abstract art… each person will see and feel something different. These pieces are as much about you as they are about me.
